We need to shape the future of space policy.

Our mission is dedicated to cultivating a dynamic workforce poised to confront the unprecedented challenges of the New Space Era.

The space sector's exponential growth demands a strategic response to ensure humanity's optimal benefit in a sustainable, equitable, and inspiring manner. The urgency is underscored by the looming threats of space debris, environmental effects in our upper atmosphere, spectrum congestion, and growing space traffic in our orbital realm. The need for effective government policies is paramount.

We need policies that not only fuel economic growth but also minimize environmental impact. We need a cadre of space policy experts: individuals equipped to grapple with the multifaceted challenges at the intersection of technology, governance, and environmental stewardship.

Science In Space is not just an initiative; it's a response to a pivotal moment. Recognizing the imperative to draw talent from diverse backgrounds, we aim to inspire a new generation of space policy pioneers and help professionals launch a career in space policy or space government affairs.

Science In Space stands as a beacon, illuminating the path toward a future where effective space policies, shaped by informed and dedicated individuals, lead us toward sustainable, responsible, and awe-inspiring exploration of the cosmos.

Meet Dr Andrew Williams, Founder of Science in Space

I've always been inspired by space, from astronomy to the exploration of our solar system to the incredible things achieved in space from Earth observation and space communications.

I know that people desire to have an impactful career and the space sector is certainly going to have an impact on our society and the future direction of humanity.  I want to help a thousand people find their dream role in the sector and provide resources to develop skills in a space career, particularly in space policy and government affairs.

I have over 20 years of experience in space policy, government affairs and policy advisor roles in intergovernmental organisations and for the UK government. I have led government affairs campaigns, advised senior leadership on challenging and complex policy issues, led international working groups on space policy topics, written hundreds of policy briefings and reports, and represented organisations in high-level forums such as the United Nations COPUOS.

Drawing from this extensive experience, I am ready to serve you in launching your career or addressing your organisation's challenges.

I hold a PhD in Public Policy from Old Dominion University, Virginia, US and an MPhys(Hons) in Theoretical Physics from the University of Manchester, UK. I currently reside with my wife and two children in Munich, Germany.
